Profile

Marcelo has extensive experience in banking, capital markets, project financing, corporate finance, and corporate governance, including complex mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and financial restructurings.

He previously served as legal advisor to the Ministry of Economy of the Argentine Republic and the National Securities Commission (1989-2001). His main clients include HSBC Bank, BNP PARIBAS AM, Banco Hipotecario S.A., Banco Comafi, ADEBA, YPF S.A., Ledesma, San Miguel, MATBA-ROFEX, FINOVA, REBA Compañía Financiera, among others.

He is a member of the International Bar Association and Global Law. He has been a professor of Banking Law at ESEADE, Capital Markets at UCA, Financial Law at San Andrés, and Corporate Governance at UCEMA.

Additionally, he has advised the Ministry of Economy of the Argentine Republic and served as vice president of the Center for Financial Stability (CEF). He has also held significant roles on the board of Nortel Inversora S.A. and in the supervisory body of Banco Comafi S.A. and Argenclear.

Education

Marcelo graduated as a lawyer and licensed in Economic Sciences from the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires in 1987. He obtained a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of CEMA in 1998.

Awards

He was recognized with the “40 under 40” award by Latin Lawyer in 2003.
