Carlos Ara Triadú

Partner. Mr. Ara specializes in restructuring with extensive experience in refinancing and special situations in all sectors, as well as in insolvency proceedings. He advises lenders and investors on distress scenarios involving company restructurings and liquidity injections, defensive postpetition and loan-to-own financing, as well as on going-concern business acquisitions through pre-pack sales and liquidation plans. He also regularly advises on the monetization of illiquid assets, liquidity transactions with inventory as collateral and sale-and-leaseback transactions. His court experience includes insolvency; enforcement of financing contracts and security interests: M&A (R&W), NPL and REO transactions; and corporate governance and directors' fiduciary duties.

He lectures at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and speaks regularly at insolvency forums.

Mr. Ara is admitted to practice in Spain (Barcelona) and in the United States (State of New York).

He has written several articles on insolvency and corporate law. Co-author of an article on Regulation (EU) 2015/848, on insolvency proceedings.
