Carla is a Partner with more than 16 years of experience in arbitration and litigation, with a focus on national and international commercial and construction arbitration. Carla is highly experienced in handling procedures seeking annulment of awards before Peruvian Courts, with a keen eye for negotiation and conflict prevention.

She was previously a senior associate at Estudio Muñiz, Olaya, Meléndez, Castro, Ono & Herrera Abogados (2019-2021) and Simons Abogados (2013-2019).

Her professional experience is balanced with academic activities. Carla actively participates as a speaker in national and international arbitration events. She has been invited to teach virtual courses and lead workshops.

Carla is a founding member of Peruvian Young Arbitrators, a non-profit organization that promotes ethics, innovation, and responsibility in arbitration practice. In 2018, she was appointed as Latin America Ambassador of Arbitrator Intelligence, a non-profit organization that seeks to increase information about arbitrators through data collection (she committed to this organization to search for greater transparency that would allow incorporating a merit-based quota for the appointment of arbitrators and reduce the risk of practices not aligned with international standards).

Carla is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (2008). She completed a specialization course in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration at the American University Washington College of Law (2011).
