Alex Campos is the firm’s Managing Partner and leads the Projects practice, while also serving as co-head of the Arbitration practice alongside Rodrigo Urrutia. He has over 29 years of legal experience.
Alex has extensive experience in domestic and international arbitration, with a particular focus on complex construction and infrastructure disputes. He regularly handles high-value and technically sophisticated disputes arising from major construction contracts, PPPs and concession agreements, involving extensions of time, cost overruns, variations and change orders, standby costs, force majeure, disruption, acceleration, contract termination, breaches and damages.
A key strength of his practice is his deep understanding of infrastructure projects throughout their entire lifecycle. In addition to representing clients in disputes, he advises on the legal and contractual aspects of projects at every stage of development. This combination of projects and disputes experience enables him to provide comprehensive and commercially focused advice.
Alex also advises clients at the pre-dispute stage, including direct negotiations, the early management of potential claims and dispute avoidance. His experience extends to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, particularly Dispute Boards.
Registered arbitrator with the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (LCC), the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (AmCham Peru), and the Arbitration Center of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP).
Member of AACE International, the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF), and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb).
Former President of the Peruvian Construction Society (2015–2017).
