Brian Chisling is a Partner in the Firm’s Corporate department and Energy & Infrastructure Group, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. He advises clients, including utilities, independent power producers, pipeline companies, transmission companies, fiber-optic and other telecommunications companies, private equity funds, and financing parties with respect to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, spin-offs and divestitures, securities issuances and financings, and related federal and state regulatory issues. In the power industry, he has regularly advised both strategic utility clients and private equity clients. Examples of high-profile mergers and other transactions include: recent joint ventures and acquisitions of large renewable energy portfolios and developers by private equity firms, ITC Holdings’ sale to Fortis, JPMorgan's sale of its physical commodities trading businesses, American Electric Power's acquisition of Central and South West Corp., and the acquisition of TXU by a group of private equity firms.
