Athanasia has vast experience in structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on the feasibility and implementation of international financial transactions. She has been working on the legal and regulatory aspects of the development of a secondary market of NPLs in the portfolios of Greek banks and has been involved in most transactions of this type in Greece. Athanasia has significant experience in advising corporates, international and domestic credit and financial institutions on financial restructurings and insolvency proceedings. Her clients include all the major banks and financial institutions active in Greece. She has acted in innovative and groundbreaking deals which have paved the way for future transactions in the banking sector. She advised Pimco on its investment in securitisation notes under Project Pillar, the first securitisation transaction in the market concluded under the EU Securitisation Regulation, involving a large portfolio of residential non-performing loans and three classes of listed and rated securitisation notes. She advised Intrum on its acquisition of a large portfolio of bank loan and credit receivables (Project Aeolus) originated by 13 Greek banks placed into liquidation and represented by PQH, the appointed single special liquidator.
