Career
Athanasia is a leading expert in banking & finance, with vast experience in structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on the feasibility and implementation of international financial transactions, including on security and hedging arrangements. Athanasia has acted in innovative and groundbreaking deals which have paved the way for future transactions in the banking sector. Recent experience includes advising Morgan Stanley on the securitisation of a €6bn receivables portfolio originated by the National Bank of Greece, through the issue by Frontier Issuer DAC of €3bn senior notes (under the guarantee of the Hellenic Republic under the Hercules Asset Protection Scheme), mezzanine notes and junior notes. She also recently advised PIMCO on the securitisation of PPC receivables (Zeus portfolio) under electricity invoices outstanding for more than 90 days and Lapithus Group on a credit facility entered into by Lana Securitisation SaRL (a Luxembourg securitisation company) with Eurobank SA for the issue of bank guarantees addressed to auction officers for the collection of auction proceeds in accordance with the Greek Code of Civil Procedure.
