Ankoosh is based in the Mumbai office of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and has over two decades of advisory and litigation experience with focus on commercial disputes and white-collar crime litigation. He is co-head of White Collar and Investigations.
Ankoosh regularly advises MNC’s, Indian and foreign banks and financial institutions and fintechs, media companies and pharmaceutical companies in complex White Collar Crime investigations conducted by various authorities including the Central Bureau of Investigation, Directorate of Enforcement (“ED”), Economic Offences Wing as well as local police. Ankoosh also advises clients in relation to litigations arising out of such investigations and/or distinct criminal litigation before various judicial forums including the Supreme Court of India, several High Courts and District Courts, more details of which can be accessed here.
Notably, he has in the recent past advised and/ or represented:
(i) a global payments company in respect of investigations being conducted by the ED into their business operations and proceedings before authorities under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (“PMLA”), Delhi High Court and High Court of Bombay and local police in a related matter;
(ii) a multi-national company engaged in business of construction of pipes in respect of investigation being conducted by Serious Fraud Investigation Office;
(iii) a global data center in respect of investigation being conducted by Maharashtra Goods and Services Act, 2017 on transactions undertaken with another company.
Ankoosh is also actively involved in speaking at various panel discussions and events including at Ahmedabad Management Association, Indian Banks Association and have conducted sessions for the clients. He regularly publishes on range of legal issues/topics including the below:
