Andrea Von Chrismar is the Partner in the Antitrust and Regulatory practice at the firm.
She co-leads the Competition Law area alongside Benjamín Grebe, providing clients with both preventive advice and representation in litigation and investigations conducted by the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) and the Competition Tribunal (TDLC), respectively.
In the field of Competition Law, Andrea has advised clients on risk assessments, the design and implementation of compliance programs and training, and preventive consultations related to distribution contracts, vertical restraints, collaboration agreements between competitors, among others. Additionally, she has advised and represented various clients in FNE investigations regarding mergers, alleged unilateral and collective abuses, and alleged cartels or collusive practices, including leniency processes. She also represents clients in contentious and non-contentious cases before the TDLC, as well as appeals of TDLC decisions before the Supreme Court, across diverse industries such as energy, water services, ports, banking, telecommunications, digital platforms, retail, and agribusiness.
Furthermore, Andrea leads the Regulatory advising clients on regulatory compliance matters, particularly in the energy, water services, and telecommunications industries. She provides preventive advice and represents clients in proceedings before special tribunals, such as the Expert Panel of the Electricity Law, and in sanctioning procedures conducted by superintendencies and other sectoral regulatory agencies.
Andrea works actively with other lawyers at the firm, advising energy industry clients on issues such as electrical regulation, bidding processes, regulatory procedures led by authorities, and mergers and acquisitions.
She has played an active role in the academy field, serving as a speaker and moderator at events organized by Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (ICON-S, August 2022) and RegCom, the Regulation and Competition Center at Universidad de Chile (Seminar “State, Regulation, and the New Constitution,” August 2022). She has also been a speaker at the XXII and XXIII Energy Law Conferences at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, leading to the publication of two articles at the Administrative Law Journal: Energy Transition and Vertical Integration in the Electricity Market (2023) and Competence of the Competition Tribunal to judge actions of regulatory bodies of the electricity sector (2024).
Andrea is recognized in the field of Competition Law as an “Up-and-Coming Individual” by Chambers & Partners and as a Leading Associate by Legal 500 in 2024. She was also awarded as the “Competition and Antitrust Rising Star of the Year” in the Legal 500 Awards 2024. Additionally, she has been acknowledged by Legal 500 as one of the leaders in the Energy and Natural Resources: Electricity and Hydrocarbons practice area.
She joined Prieto in 2020 and became a Partner at the firm in 2025.
