Álvaro Bourkaib’s practice includes the advisory, contractual and litigation aspects of the protection and transfer of intangible assets. He designs innovative strategies for protecting and transferring those rights, thanks to his interdisciplinary knowledge of authors’ rights, neighboring rights and sui generis database rights; trade secrets; and patents, trademarks, designs, plant varieties and mask works.
He provides multijurisdictional, multicultural, crossborder advice, and has worked for international firms.
Career
He lectures in several masters and postgraduate courses on intellectual property and technology transfer at universities and higher education centers, including ICADE, Universidad Carlos III, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and IE Business School. He also regularly participates in international conferences on intellectual property and new technologies.
