Mr. Payá specializes in domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly M&A, private equity, joint ventures and strategic alliances, corporate group restructuring and financing and real estate transactions. He has advised on some of the most important transactions in different industrial and services sectors, as well as in regulated sectors such as finance and insurance, infrastructures, energy and pharma.
He has lectured on commercial law at ESADE Business & Law School and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He regularly speaks at different courses and conferences. He is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Barcelona Bar Association’s Master of Business Law.
He is admitted to the practice of law as an attorney in New York. He is also a member of the Barcelona Bar Association and the New York Bar Association, as well as of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association (former Chair of the Closely Held Companies Committee).
He is author of several publications and the co-author of collective works.
