Firm Overview:

Felsberg Advogados is a full-service law firm which celebrated 50 years in practice in 2020. Founded in 1970 by Thomas Felsberg, the firm has always had an innovative spirit at the core of everything it does. Long before the firm was recognised as pioneers in judicial restructuring, Felsberg Advogados was one of the first firms to advise on aviation financing and contribute to the development of project finance and venture capital in Brazil. The core practices of Felsberg Advogados include corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, project development and financing, insolvency, general commercial litigation and arbitration, tax advisory and litigation, labour advisory and litigation, environment, public and regulatory, and real estate. More recently, the firm inaugurated new practice areas such as fashion law, innovation and startups, intellectual property, life sciences, antitrust, compliance and white-collar crime. Felsberg Advogados also anticipated future demands with new fintech and payment systems as well as data protection and technology departments and a specialised gaming law team. Felsberg Advogados's broad and all-encompassing vision enables the firm as a team to meet the current and future legal requirements of all clients, from the biggest corporate groups to the freshest of startups.

Both eyes on the present with the future in sight.

Social Responsibility:

Pro Bono: Felsberg Advogados is committed to supporting social, cultural and educational projects. Among the projects it supports are Vaga Lume (creating and maintaining libraries in the Amazon), APAQ (treatment of burns victims), and AB2L (for the creation of dialogue among law firms and tech companies). The fashion law team, in particular, devotes pro bono hours to two institutes in the fashion industry: Fashion Revolution (uniting the fashion industry in the way clothes are sourced, produced and consumed) and Instituto Alinha (connecting small workshops with designers and brands at fair prices and deadlines).

Diversity & Inclusion:

The firm focuses on selecting and rewarding the best minds, regardless of gender, colour, social class, sexual or religious orientation. Among its partners, more than 50% are women. Among all its lawyers and staff, 57% are women. DiversiFeA, its Committee of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion comprising partners, other fee-earners and staff, promotes regular initiatives and events for the well-being of all members of the firm.

International Work:

The firm’s international practice is reinforced by its membership in the world’s leading law firm networks – which certify the firm’s global quality. Felsberg Advogados is the Brazilian representative at Meritas and Legalink. Its lawyers have in-depth understanding of different legal cultures and regulatory environments in other countries. Many are fluent in several languages with prior experience in international firms and some are qualified to practice law in Brazil as well as abroad. To support the cross-border work that the firm does for clients in almost 30 countries, Felsberg Advogados's China and German Desks provide specialised expertise and skills.
