Felsberg Advogados advised WPP Group in its acquisition of a 75% equity interest in DTI Sistemas Ltda, a software company in the state of Minas Gerais which is a leading company in the development of customized software business. DTI is headquartered in Belo Horizonte and employs 800 people. It was founded in 2009 and its services range from the development of back-office support systems to consumer-oriented applications and platforms.
The deal was signed in February 2021 and closed on 30 April 2021, following approval from CADE.
DTI is the first technology company in Brazil to be acquired by WPP, but the acquisition is in line with its objectives of expanding its operations in the areas of experience, commerce and technology. DTI will also strengthen the group's ability to offer complete digital transformation solutions to its customers, in addition to complementing current offers from the point of view of communication, marketing and business. As part of attaining the group’s objectives, WPP has previously acquired other agencies in Brazil such as Blinks, i-Cherry and Mirum.
DTI’s clients include Vale, Localiza, MRV, FCA, Gerdau, Serasa Experian, Hermes Pardini, Pottencial, BS2, Ânima and Bayer.
With more than 4,000 employees and $300 million USD in revenue, Brazil is the largest market for WPP in Latin America. WPP works with a wide range of global and local clients in Brazil including Coca-Cola, Visa, Nike, Vivo, Itaipava and Casas Bahia.
