Practice Areas
Mr. Young Suk Park heads Shin & Kim’s International Dispute Resolution Practice Group and is one of a handful lawyers in the Korean International Arbitration community to support his highly developed international arbitration practice with a broad and diversified background in non-contentious practice in international transactions.
He also served as the General Counsel and an Executive Director of its investment committee, being involved in investments and transactions, encompassing a variety of sectors, such as energy, natural resources, real estate, buy-outs, start-ups and public equity. Young further acted as the statutory auditor for Atinum Investment, a publicly listed venture capital investment subsidiary of Atinum Partners.
Prior to his position with Shin & Kim, Young was a partner with and the head of KL Partners’ international dispute resolution team, and also a partner with Kim & Chang’s international arbitration practice, spending more than 18 years specializing in international arbitration and cross-border litigation.
His involvement in international arbitration goes beyond his professional practice. During his time away from private practice, he founded and held the inaugural chair of the Arbitration Committee of the Korea In-house Counsel Forum (IHCF), an organization devoted to educating in-house counsels and promoting in-house practice. He is currently on the KCAB’s Panel of Arbitrators and also serves as a director and member of the Management Committee of the Korea Council for International Arbitration (KOCIA), a member of the Management Committee of the Seoul International Dispute Resolution Center (SIDRC) and a member of the Commercial Arbitration Support-Committee of the Ministry of SME’s Korea Federation of SMEs.
Legal 500 has nominated him as a Next Generation Partner, while Who’s Who Legal views him as a National Leader (Korea-Arbitration) and Legal Times has picked him as one of the Rising Stars 2021.
