Wojciech Szopiński is a counsel in the Energy and Infrastructure practice at CMS Poland. He advises companies in the energy and infrastructure sectors on Polish and EU energy and environmental law, including regulatory and contractual matters, transactions, financing, project development and litigation, with a focus on sustainability.
His experience focuses on permitting and environmental aspects of complex energy and infrastructure projects, including environmental impact assessments, construction and spatial planning in the context of renewable and conventional energy developments. He also advises on climate change (EU ETS), ESG, waste and water management, as well as soil and groundwater contamination.
Wojciech has extensive experience in dealing with public authorities, non-governmental organisations and local communities, as well as in administrative court proceedings, particularly in complex permit-related disputes. He has been involved in projects concerning renewable energy (onshore and offshore), transmission and power grid infrastructure, large-scale industrial installations, new power units, data centres and commercial real estate.
