Valerie Lawlor graduated from Trinity College Dublin (LLB) in 1993 and University of Cambridge (LLM) in 1994. She qualified in Ireland in 1998, having joined McCann FitzGerald LLP in 1997 and become a Partner in 2004. Valerie advises on corporate and commercial matters, and has a particular expertise in renewables, energy and natural resources law. Valerie has been centrally involved in the Irish energy market since its liberalisation in the early 2000s. She has extensive experience advising on renewables, clean energy and sustainability projects for project acquirers, developers and offtakers as well as the sector regulators, such as the Commission for Regulation of Utilities and the Single Electricity Market Operator.
