Tomás coordinates the firm's Dispute Resolution practice and has built his career litigating complex disputes, distinguished by a strong command of Ecuadorian procedural law and a marked analytical approach. He advises and represents domestic and international companies in civil, commercial, labour, administrative and tax proceedings, covering every stage of a dispute — identifying the problem, assessing contingencies, defining scenarios, preparing the strategy, conducting the proceedings and following through on enforcement.

He incorporates alternative dispute-resolution mechanisms, with particular emphasis on intra- and extra-procedural mediation, judging when a negotiated settlement will outperform continued litigation and when a firm contentious position is required. He also handles labour disputes and matters involving constitutional rights within employment relationships, and has acted as judicial representative for companies in civil, commercial and constitutional matters, including extraordinary appeals and proceedings concerning contractual obligations and consumer rights.
