Juan Francisco leads the firm's Constitutional Control & Jurisdictional Guarantees and Dispute Resolution practices. He has acted as counsel in numerous highly complex constitutional and judicial proceedings of national and international significance, and is widely recognised for his command of the Ecuadorian legal system and his ability to resolve intricate matters — a reputation that places him among the country's leading constitutional and procedural lawyers.

He has been appointed as an expert witness on Ecuadorian constitutional and procedural law in international commercial and investment arbitrations and before the Inter-American human-rights system. Alongside his public-law work, he has a deep command of private law, handling complex civil disputes, sophisticated estate-planning structures and ongoing advice to national and multinational companies. He has devoted more than fifteen years to teaching constitutional and procedural law at Ecuador's leading universities and is the author of the book Las garantías jurisdiccionales en el Ecuador.
