Experience
Juan Francisco leads the Firm’s Constitutional Control and Jurisdictional Guarantees, as well as its Dispute Resolution practice. He has acted as counsel in numerous highly complex jurisdictional and constitutional proceedings of both national and international significance.
He is widely recognized for his in-depth knowledge of the Ecuadorian legal system and his capacity to analyze and resolve intricate legal matters, which has positioned him among the country’s most prominent constitutional and procedural lawyers.
Given his trajectory and reputation, Juan Francisco has been appointed as an expert witness in several international arbitrations—both commercial and investment—as well as before the Inter-American human rights system, particularly in matters of constitutional and procedural law.
In addition to his expertise in Public Law, Juan Francisco possesses a profound command of Private Law. This comprehensive perspective has enabled him to successfully handle complex civil disputes, design sophisticated estate planning structures, and provide ongoing legal advisory services to both national and multinational companies.
In addition to his professional practice, he has devoted more than fifteen years to academia, teaching constitutional and procedural law at Ecuador’s leading universities. He is also a regular speaker at specialized forums and conferences on constitutional and procedural law.
