Sujata Yalamanchili is a real estate attorney and Partner at Hodgson Russ where she leads the firm’s Real Estate Leasing and Retail Practices. Her practice is distinguished by its depth and versatility, encompassing commercial real estate development, leasing, investment, and financing across a wide range of sectors.
Sujata advises clients on structuring acquisition and development projects for office, distribution, and manufacturing facilities. She is a trusted legal advisor to retail sector developers and operators, guiding them through development, acquisition, leasing, financing, and 1031 exchange transactions. Her work includes acting as lead real estate counsel to a publicly traded financial institution, a nonprofit healthcare organization, and a UK-based retailer with over 200 locations across North America.
She has significant experience leading the firm’s work in public-private partnerships, which has encompassed legislative drafting, project structuring, and negotiating complex agreements. Notably, she represents several New York State University of New York (NYSUNY) universities and affiliated foundations in a range of development, revenue generating and educational matters.
Sujata also counsels tax-exempt entities such as colleges, universities, and healthcare providers on governance, development, and leasing matters.
