Kevin Talbot is the Corporate & Business Practice Leader at Hodgson Russ and focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and complex corporate transactions. He is a trusted advisor to private and public companies, private equity firms, and family-owned businesses, guiding them through all phases of strategic business deals.
Kevin has substantial experience in advanced planning and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. His M&A work spans a range of industries and includes domestic and international transactions. Notable representations include advising an international, publicly traded, large-scale metals manufacturer on the sale of a 500-person manufacturing company to a strategic buyer; and representing a provider of manufacturing byproducts, waste management, and environmental recycling services in the sale of the company to a strategic buyer.
He also represented an international manufacturer and supplier of materials and manufacturing services in a series of strategic acquisitions throughout the United States, with transaction values ranging between $20-$225M.
In addition to transactional work, Kevin serves as principal outside general counsel for numerous privately held businesses and as outside U.S. general counsel for several publicly traded European companies. His practice includes counseling clients on operational and commercial matters, helping them navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes. He also regularly advises clients in connection with a wide-range of day-to-day commercial arrangements, including supply, distribution, licensing, private-label manufacturing, and sales representative agreements.
Kevin has been consistently ranked in Chambers USA for Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions since 2022 and has earned recognition from The Legal 500 as one of New York City’s Elite in Corporate and M&A, highlighting his prominence in the field.
