Career
Jeffrey Stravino is the Environmental Practice Leader at Hodgson Russ and a key figure in the firm’s litigation and regulatory compliance work. His environmental practice encompasses litigation, regulatory counseling, and strategic advisory services across a range of federal and state environmental laws.
Jeff represents clients in complex environmental litigation under major statutes such as the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA); the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); the Clean Water Act; the Clean Air Act; and New York’s Navigation Law. He frequently advises clients involved in potentially responsible party (PRP) groups and provides guidance on environmental compliance issues, including waste management and landfill operations.
He works effectively with both state and federal environmental agencies, helping clients navigate investigations, enforcement actions, and regulatory reviews. Jeff’s litigation experience spans trial and appellate courts, and he has successfully represented clients in high-stakes disputes, including securing multi-million-dollar settlements in False Claims Act (qui tam) cases.
Jeff also brings significant experience in alternative dispute resolution, having represented clients in mediations and arbitrations under both domestic and international rules. He has served as a mediator himself, resolving disputes pending in both state and federal courts.
His numerous accolades, including a Band 1 ranking in Chambers USA for Environment and multiple appearances in Best Lawyers in America, underscore the confidence clients have in his guidance.
