Stéphane Bénouville

Avocat à la Cour, Stéphane Bénouville heads the Freshfields’ litigation practice group in Paris and is a member of the firm’s global investigations practice.

Stéphane represents a broad range of clients, from major international banks and CEOs of listed companies to family-owned French businesses, as well as companies in the technology, consumer goods, and energy sectors, in both civil and commercial courts.

He is highly experienced in financial services and banking disputes, as well as in regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings, particularly before the Sanctions Commission of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), France’s financial markets regulator.

Stéphane also has substantial experience in various commercial and business law matters, including shareholder disputes and post-acquisition litigation.

His practice extends to white-collar crime, and he frequently advises companies on internal investigations related to alleged fraud, bribery, and corruption.

In addition, Stéphane has extensive experience managing global investigations across a wide range of industries, including financial services, banking, technology, defence, and automotive.
