A Partner in Simpson Thacher’s Financial Institutions Practice, Spencer Sloan’s practice focuses on advising domestic and international financial institutions, their affiliates and counterparties in connection with regulatory, supervisory, enforcement and transactional matters. Spencer regularly counsels U.S. and foreign banks, other regulated financial services firms and their investors in connection with mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and capital markets transactions. He also advises banking clients on regulatory compliance matters, new activities and charters, and routinely practices before the major financial services regulators, including the Federal Reserve Board, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as well as state banking regulators.
