Sinéad is a Partner in our Public and Regulatory Law Department and manages a team of 11 solicitors and 4 paralegals supporting a range of professional discipline clients.
Sinéad routinely advises clients on matters relating to registration/licensing, education and competence, decision-making, investigations/inspections, fitness to practise/professional conduct/statutory Inquiries, prosecutions, litigation and corporate governance.
Sinéad has prepared or overseen the preparation of 600+ complaints for hearing to the criminal standard of proof, before statutory committees of Inquiry. Sinéad is a highly experienced litigator and has vast experience in the defence of statutory appeals and judicial review proceedings at all court levels, including the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Many of these decisions are landmark decisions in the field of public and administrative and more particularly professional disciplinary law. In addition, Sinéad has managed over 300 High Court applications to confirm the imposition of sanction or to apply on an emergency basis to suspend the registration of a registrant where there is a risk to the public, frequently advocating before the Courts without Counsel. Sinéad has also been responsible for the conduct of several hundred emergency suspension applications and sanction confirmation applications stemming from complaints processes.
