Simon Gilmour

Simon is a Partner and Head of Employment at Harper James. He joined the firm in 2018, bringing more than 25 years of experience gained at top 50 law firms in the West Midlands.

He advises employers of all sizes, from start-ups and SMEs to global blue-chip organisations, with a particular focus on the technology sector. Simon supports clients through every stage of the employment relationship, including drafting contracts and policies, handling disciplinary and grievance processes, addressing allegations of bullying or harassment, advising on dismissals and severances, and managing tribunal claims. He is also experienced in protecting IP, client relationships and teams.

Simon has specialist expertise in TUPE, corporate transactions, and large-scale restructures and redundancies. His advice is clear, commercial and pragmatic, designed to help businesses manage risk and achieve their objectives.
