Jill Bainbridge

Jill is a Partner and Head of Intellectual Property at Harper James. She has specialised in IP protection, dispute resolution and brand and reputation management for more than 20 years, having qualified as an intellectual property solicitor in 1994.

Jill has extensive experience in IP strategy and dispute resolution across the full spectrum of rights, including patents, copyright, trade marks, passing off, design rights, database rights, trade secrets, confidential information, domain names and patent entitlement. She advises clients both in the UK and internationally, always with a clear focus on achieving practical, commercial outcomes.

Recognised for her calm and pragmatic approach, Jill works to resolve disputes quickly and cost-effectively while keeping clients’ business priorities front of mind. She has acted for individuals, SMEs and global corporations across sectors, including leisure and retail, creative industries, manufacturing, telecommunications, technology, charities and education.
