Career

Samantha is a Partner and Head of Employee Share Schemes at Harper James. A solicitor since 2001, she has spent more than 20 years helping ambitious businesses design and deliver employee and management ownership programmes that drive growth and create value for everyone involved.

She advises on every stage of the journey, from design and implementation through to communication and ongoing operation, helping founders, investors, management teams and employees achieve their shared ambitions. A strong advocate for employee ownership, Samantha has guided many companies through the transition to broad-based ownership models, often using the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) route.

Her expertise spans start-ups to listed companies, both in the UK and internationally. She regularly works with businesses backed by venture capital and private equity and advises on how corporate transactions impact employee and management incentive arrangements.

Before joining Harper James, Samantha held senior roles at top 50 law firms and has worked in the tax departments at Big 4 consulting firms PwC and Deloitte, bringing together deep legal and tax expertise. She is also a Chartered Tax Advisor and a trustee of Ownership at Work, a UK charity promoting employee ownership.
