Seann McAleese

Seann advises clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other complex corporate transactions, with a focus on the employment, labour, executive compensation and workplace issues that can materially affect deal value, execution risk and post-closing integration. He works with boards, executives, strategic acquirors, private equity participants and other public and private sector clients to identify practical solutions. Seann advises on executive agreements, employee incentives, restrictive covenants, union organizing, labour relations, employment compliance, human rights and workplace governance issues across both union and non-union environments. He has also appeared as employer counsel in contentious employment matters in court, arbitration and various tribunals across jurisdictions, including class action defence. Seann also guides companies through the employment-related aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings to mitigate employment and labour exposure, as well as successorship risks. Seann is a member of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers and a former president of the Human Resources Professionals Association, Grand Valley chapter.
