Derek Ricci

Derek is a partner in Davies’ Litigation group. He has extensive experience litigating a wide range of complex commercial disputes, including as lead counsel on trials and appeals before courts and tribunals across Canada. He acts in a variety of complex matters, including mining, securities, asset recovery and fraud, class actions, competition and product liability. He has managed all aspects of complex disputes for the firm’s most high-profile clients, including in connection with the firm’s representation of Shaw Communications Inc. in a landmark trial before the Competition Tribunal challenging the company’s C$26-billion merger with Rogers Communications Inc. Derek is a frequent author and speaker for continuing education programs relating to commercial litigation and advocacy. He is the sole representative for Toronto of ICC FraudNet, a global network of fraud and asset recovery legal specialists administered by the International Chamber of Commerce.
