Known for her skilled advocacy and strategic judgment, Chantelle maintains a broad trial and appellate practice, specializing in complex commercial litigation and arbitration. She has extensive experience in national and cross-border class actions, competition litigation, securities litigation, shareholder disputes and oppression. Chantelle has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and all levels of court in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. She has also acted as counsel before the Competition Tribunal, the Ontario Securities Commission and in international arbitrations. At the forefront of the use of litigation technology, Chantelle regularly consults on best practices for paperless and virtual litigation. The Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Report (2019) named her among the top 10 legal innovators in North America. Chantelle is recognized as one of the Top 50 Trial Lawyers in Canada and one of the Top 100 Women Litigators in Canada by Benchmark Litigation. In addition, Chantelle was honoured as a 2022 Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyer Under 40; she was awarded a 2019 Lexpert Zenith Award for her work as a Change Agent in Law; she was honoured with Osgoode Hall Law School's Alumni Gold Key Award in the "One-to-Watch" category, in recognition of her exceptional achievements as both a litigator and a driver of change in the legal profession; and she was awarded the Ontario Bar Association’s Heather McArthur Young Lawyer Award for her efforts to transform the practice of law in Ontario. Chantelle is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, a highly selective, invitation-only global network of attorneys and executives. She is the Past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s (OBA) Civil Litigation Executive and sits on the Ontario Superior Court of Justice’s Commercial List Users’ Committee.
