Mark advises on mergers & acquisitions, criminal cartel investigations, joint ventures, abuse of dominance, distribution and pricing practices, misleading advertising and compliance, in Canada and internationally. Mark also advises on the regulation of foreign investments and ownership in Canada, including under the Investment Canada Act. Clients appreciate his common-sense advice on competition and foreign investment matters. Mark has appeared at all levels of court and acted as counsel on leading cases before the Competition Tribunal. Mark publishes widely on issues relating to Canadian competition and foreign investment law and in 2023 was named a Thought Leader in Competition by Lexology Index. Mark has also authored policy briefs on domestic and international competition-related matters and is co-author of The Competition Law Guide for Trade Associations in Canada. Mark is a past co-chair of the International Antitrust Law Committee of the ABA Section of International Law and a past chair of the Criminal Matters Committee of the CBA Section of National Competition Law.
