Practice Areas
Practice focuses exclusively on advising Canadian pension funds and their asset managers on structuring investments and other activities around the world and on critical governance matters with respect to each pension fund’s unique governing legislation and applicable Canadian pension legislation. He routinely acts as lead pension investment counsel on both domestic and international acquisitions in the areas of private equity, infrastructure and real estate, as well as fund investments, platform investments and co-investments, for many of Canada’s most respected pension fund investors including CPP Investments (formerly Canada Pension Plan Investment Board), Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), OMERS (including Oxford Properties), Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, OPTrust, and University Pension Plan Ontario.
Professional Memberships
Scott is a member of the Greater Toronto Area Chapter Executive of the Institute of Corporate Directors and serves on the Board of Directors of Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services, a multi-service, not-for-profit agency that serves more than 10,000 of Toronto’s most vulnerable and at-risk community members annually with a view to helping create “a city where everyone thrives”.
