Santiago Carrillo joined the firm in 2011 and has been a partner since 2022.
He advises domestic and international investment funds (including private equity firms), developers, financial institutions, and corporate clients on large-scale and strategic acquisitions and dispositions, structured lending, and joint ventures. Santiago specializes in complex real estate transactions and developments across all asset classes, with particular emphasis on industrial and hospitality projects. He also has significant experience advising national and international financial institutions on the structuring of domestic and cross-border credit transactions.
Santiago gained international experience as a foreign associate at Mayer Brown in Chicago.
Relevant Experience :
- Represented Walton Street Capital México, in the acquisition of an integrated portfolio comprised of 6 industrial warehouses located in Salamanca, Guanajuato.
- Represented Artha Capital, in the sale of an industrial portfolio of 14 buildings to Fibra Prologis.
- Represented Related, in the sale of the SLS Cancun Hotel to Grupo CC.
- Represented Walton Street Capital, in the acquisition of an industrial portfolio from Terrafina Fibra, consisting of 15 real estate properties, for approximately USD$127 million.
- Represented Artha Capital, in the sale of a land parcel to USAA of approximately 96,574 m2, located in Tijuana, Baja California Norte, as well as in the negotiation of the development management agreement and an asset services agreement with USAA regarding a spec building to be located in such land parcel.
- Represented Vertex Real Estate Investors, in the sale to MRP of Tenaria shopping mall, located in Mexico City.
- Represented an affiliate of Walton Street Capital in its acquisition of The Resort at Pedregal in Los Cabos, which was re-branded as the first Waldorf Astoria in Mexico, as well as in the financing for such acquisition granted by Banco Sabadell.
- Represented an affiliate of Walton Street Capital in its acquisition of JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City.
- Represented Thor Urbana, in the acquisition of the shopping mall Marina Town Center located in Cancún, Quintana Roo.
