Şahin Ardıyok leads the competition law and regulatory practice of the office. His regulatory practice covers not only the industries such as telecommunications, energy, broadcasting, banking sectors which are governed with dedicated regulatory institutions but also all industries where government intrusion is available via tools of economic regulation (pharmaceuticals, healthcare, environment, etc.). Each year Ardıyok and his team, consisting of devoted lawyers and economists, represents large domestic clients, government institutions, NGOs and multinational companies in large number of TCA investigations and merger/acquisition notifications, regulatory authority filings, appeal cases, antidumping investigations (across Turkey, the EU and the US) and data protection law projects. He has massive experience in complex TCA investigations, mergers/acquisition filings, government affairs, and compliance programs across almost all industries. He also supports the Corporate/M&A and Litigation teams of the office in order to provide holistic legal services. As a senior practitioner of 20+ years, Ardıyok frequently addresses at conferences and symposia on competition law and regulated industries, he frequently writes on competition law, regulation and law & economics.
Şahin Ardıyok previously taught the courses on “Telecommunications Law” and “Pharmaceutical Law” at Istanbul Bilgi University, and currently teaches courses on “Economic Regulation and the Law” (in English) and “Energy Law and Policy” at Bilkent University which is located in Ankara. Moreover, he is the Advisory Board Member of the Competition Law Center of Istanbul Bilgi University and he instructs various certificate programs at various universities, Bar Associations and other institutions. Recognized both nationally and internationally for his competition law work, Ardıyok is an active delegate of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) National Committee in the ICC’s Competition Commission and serves as an NGA for the various working groups of International Competition Network (ICN).
