Balcıoğlu Selçuk Akman Keki Attorney Partnership (“BASEAK”) won “Deal of the Year in Turkey” at the CEE Deal of the Year Awards, organized by legal media publisher CEE Legal Matters.
The award was presented at a gala evening at Slovanský dům in Prague on June 6, 2018.
The award recognizes BASEAK’s high quality work advising OMV on the €1.4 billion sale of its subsidiary OMV Petrol Ofisi to VIP Turkey Enerji, a subsidiary of Vitol Investment Partnership.
The deal was led by senior partner Dr. Selim Keki, with support from senior partner Şahin Ardıyok and associates Ayşegül Şifaver and Canberk Varış. Consultant Tulu Harsa, from Dentons’ Toronto office, also worked on the deal.
In addition to this accolade, BASEAK’s strong position in the M&A market has been recognized by a number of recent awards.
The firm was named “Turkey M&A Legal Adviser of the Year” in the Mergermarket European Awards 2017, and it won the “International Bond Deal of the Year Award” for its work for Coca-Cola İçecek Anonim Şirketi at the Bonds & Loans Turkey 2018 Awards.
