Patrick Cichy

Patrick is Freshfields’s global Co-Head of M&A and Capital and constantly ranked among the leading professionals for Corporate and M&A. He specialises in high-profile and complex, in some cases award-winning, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, carve-outs and public takeovers for some of the world’s largest companies and financial institutions in many countries. Patrick is sought after by clients who value his technical and commercial excellence. He works across sectors, specialising in financial services, industrials (including automotive and defence), infrastructure and tech. He is also running Freshfield’s Nordics desk.

Patrick joined Freshfields in 2004 and became a partner in 2011. He was seconded to Deutsche Bank, New York City in 2008/2009. He is the global Co-Head of our M&A and Capital practice.

Patrick studied law at the Universities of Freiburg (Germany) and Grenoble (France), and holds an MBA of the University of Wales, UK.

Patrick has contributed to several books and published numerous articles.

Patrick advises on mandates with both a domestic and international scope. He has strong focus on advising clients from the Nordics, such as Altor Equity Partners, DSV, Maersk, Orsted, SEB, UPM-Kymmene and Volvo.
