Michael Josenhans

Michael Josenhans advises on finance matters with a focus on syndicated loan transactions, including corporate finance, acquisition finance, leveraged finance and capital solutions. He is a member of Freshfields’ global financial sponsors group and global transactions team. For more than 20 years, he has been advising lenders, sponsors and borrowers throughout Europe and the US on the full range of credit and debt financings,, refinancings and restructurings. Based on his experience, he provides a deep understanding of complex issues and the rapidly changing market. Numerous high-profile corporate clients, sponsors, debt funds and banks rely on his advice and his team for their most important financings or capital restructurings.

Michael joined Freshfields in 2010, and has been a partner since 2015.

He studied law in Munich and Tübingen and holds a summa-cum-laude doctorate degree, a master of laws degree from Columbia and a maîtrise-en-droit degree from the Aix-en-Provence University. Before joining Freshfields, Michael worked for five years at Simpson Thacher in New York and one year for Bredin Prat in Paris.
