Mario Hüther

Practice Areas

Mario specialises in banking and finance law with a particular focus on syndicated lending and acquisition finance as well as corporate debt restructuring. Mario regularly advises financial sponsors, corporate borrowers and lenders on debt financings, which equips him with a 360 view of an ever-changing financing landscape.

He is a trusted legal adviser to the finance department of some key German corporate clients as well as key private equity clients and acted on a number of challenging public takeover and leveraged finance transactions, infrastructure acquisition financings and debt restructurings.

Career

Mario joined Freshfields in 2004 and became a partner in 2012. In 2007 he spent six months with RBS in London.

Publications

Mario is co-author of the "Handbuch der Unternehmensfinanzierung" (Manual of Corporate Financing) and the "Handbuch Private Equity" (Manual of Private Equity) and co-author of articles on banking and finance law topics.

Personal

Mario was recently recommended in the German newspaper Handelsblatt as a leading lawyer for finance law and by the JUVE handbook as "leading advisor for loan and acquisition finance".
