Moritz Pellmann

Moritz is one of the leading investigations and compliance lawyers in Germany. He specializes in white-collar criminal and regulatory investigations, comprehensive risk and crisis management advice, corporate defense, and the handling of related follow-on disputes. Moritz also has extensive experience in advising boards on their fiduciary duties and governance questions. Clients particularly value his highly analytical approach and deep understanding of their business and strategic objectives, which is why he is regularly retained to guide them through their most complex corporate crises. Moritz has a particular focus on the automotive and financial sectors, but also has significant experience advising clients in the industrial, healthcare, consumer products, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Career

Moritz joined Freshfields in 2010 and has been a partner since 2019. He is the Co-Head of Freshfields’ Investigations and Strategic Risk & Corporate Governance groups in Continental Europe. In 2013 and 2014, he was seconded to Zurich Insurance Group, working for the General Counsel and the Global Head of Litigation & Investigations in Zurich and New York City.
