Matthew’s litigation practice is focused on ground-breaking and high-profile securities claims for global investors seeking redress from listed companies that have failed to disclose price-sensitive information to the London Stock Exchange. He is at the forefront of developing and prosecuting securities claims and regularly speaks at conferences and panel appointments on relevant issues. In addition, Matthew has extensive experience in most key areas of commercial disputes (including breach of contract, shareholder disputes, and banking, insurance and financial services claims).

He is an veteran user of third-party litigation funding and legal expenses insurance, and adept at helping his clients turn their litigation risks into contingent assets.

Matthew acts for international companies, fund managers, public and private funds, UK corporates, SMEs and high-net-worth individuals with claims in the High Court, Court of Appeal and various arbitral institutions. His clients value his strategic thinking and targeted approach to resolving litigation.

Matthew joined Fox Williams in 2022 after seven years at Keystone Law. Previously, Matthew worked in-house as Head of Legal for a third-party litigation funder where he was instrumental in placing funding and insurance for high-profile securities claims against some of the UK’s largest financial institutions.
