Career
Marton Kocsis is the head and manages the day-to-day operation of the Competition & Compliance Practice Group at CERHA HEMPEL Dezső. He is a highly experienced and respected competition lawyer who has been active in all fields of regulatory law for well over a decade. Mr Kocsis worked for the Hungarian Competition Authority in Budapest and the European Commission Directorate General for Competition in Brussels for more than eight years. Mr Kocsis participated and acted as a leading investigator in several high-profile cartel and abuse of dominance cases.
During his first stint at CERHA HEMPEL Dezső (formerly CHSH Dezső & Partners), he acted as a senior associate, representing international clients in high-profile cartel, antitrust and consumer protection cases before authorities and courts.
In 2019, he spent a year as Group Compliance Chief Counsel of MOL Group, the largest oil company in the CEE region, before returning to lead the Competition & Compliance Practice Group of CERHA HEMPEL Dezső in close cooperation with Mr Polauf. Marton Kocsis was appointed as partner in June 2022 and slowly took over the day-to-day management of the group from Mr. Polauf who started to focus on managing the entire firm.
