Career
Stefan Huber is a partner with CERHA HEMPEL since 2015 and is a leading expert in Austrian higher education law. Moreover, he has a focus on both environmental and constitutional law as well as EU law and procurement. He is experienced in administrative court proceedings and is further busy in environmental law advice. Prior to joining CERHA HEMPEL, Stefan was an assistant professor for EU law and administrative law at the universities of Innsbruck and Vienna. Recently, Stefan has been teaching at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland (https://www.fh-burgenland.at/) and Vienna University of Applied Sciences. Further, he frequently speaks and chairs at conferences.
He continues to publish on both public law as well as state aid law issues. Amongst others, he is a co-author of the Austrian Handbook on Higher Education Law and contributed to the leading German commentary on Foreign Trade Law.
Besides activities in the Hinkley-Point case, he is highly active in advice to higher education institutions, such as the Vienna University for Natural Sciences in a so called proctoring case before the Austrian Supreme Administrative Court.
He currently leads our team advising clients on the implications of the Russia sanctions as well as on the new Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
