Martine Cicconi

Martine Cicconi, Head of the Firm’s State Attorneys General team, is an experienced litigator who focuses on significant investigations and litigation led by state attorneys general. She advises clients on navigating enforcement actions and complex regulatory challenges, drawing on extensive experience across U.S. state and federal executive and judicial bodies. Joined Simpson Thacher in 2026. Served as a Special Assistant to the President and Senior Counsel in the Office of the White House Counsel. Served as Associate Counsel in the same office during the Obama administration. Prior to joining the Biden White House, served as Deputy Solicitor General in the Office of the Virginia Attorney General, where she was an appellate and trial litigator. She argued major cases in federal and state courts and drafted numerous multistate amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court.
