Mark advises HR teams, in-house legal teams, and boards of directors in relation to their HR strategies and day-to-day HR issues.

He is a Partner in our Employment, Labour and Pensions group and heads up our Nottingham office.

Mark has been an employment lawyer for over 25 years and has bags of experience working with clients across a number of different sectors, dealing with a broad range of contentious and non-contentious work.

In recent months, he has spent a great deal of time advising clients in relation to their response to the pandemic and the people issues that this has created, as well as advising a number of employers about their adoption of hybrid working practices.

Mark can advise you in relation to any area of employment law and works with businesses to help them with their HR initiatives and projects. He works closely with HR teams, in-house legal teams and boards of directors. Mark has particular experience in the area of TUPE and is very experienced in advising on the employment aspects of outsourcing projects, as well as corporate and commercial transactions.

He qualified with Ashurt in 1994 and has been an employment lawyer ever since. Mark joined Eversheds Sutherland in 1997 and then spent two years working in-house at Capital One before returning to the firm in 2006. He has been very proud to head up the firm's Nottingham office for the past eight years.

Mark's clients describe his as "always a pleasure to work with; he displays a great understanding of the queries we bring to him. He works fast and manages to get information to us with lightning speed at times. He's always a big support to us and provides clear and manageable guidance."

In his spare time, Mark is a huge fan of Nottingham Forest, is a keen runner and tennis player, and loves going to the cinema. He is passionate about diversity and inclusion and acts as a mentor to a number of colleagues.
