Lydia has a traditional chancery practice and has specialised in contentious probate/estate claims and inheritance disputes for more than 10 years. She regularly appears in the Business and Property Courts dealing with a range of complex and valuable estates including proceedings involving fraud and forgery claims, breach of duty allegations, executor removal claims, construction/interpretation challenges, and provision claims under the Inheritance Act 1975. Lydia also has extensive experience of TOLATA disputes arising both in the context of cohabitation breakdown and commercial/business collapse. Lydia is tenacious but pragmatic in her approach and always strives to obtain the best outcome for the client, whether that is in the courtroom or when engaged in alternative dispute resolution.
Lydia read law at Durham between 2002 and 2005, completed the Bar Vocational Course (as was) in 2006 and undertook pupillage between 2008 and 2009.
Lydia is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists. She is also a member of the Chancery Bar Association and the Midlands Chancery and Commercial Bar Association. Lydia is vice-chair of the Birmingham Law Society Dispute Resolution Committee.
