Practice Areas

George Woodhead is a specialist in property, contested probate and trusts litigation, with over 15 years’ experience as an advocate and advisor.

In recent years, George Woodhead has appeared in several significant and leading property, trusts and probate cases, such as Ralph v Ralph [2021] 2 W.L.R. 128; Lohia v Lohia [2021] EWHC 2752 (Ch); Pile v Pile [2022] P. & C.R. 6; Islam v Islam [2024] EWHC 1082 (Ch); and Re Webb Estate Developments Ltd. George Woodhead’s cases often concern disputes between family members, former couples, business partners and joint venturers, and landowners. He is particularly sought after in those cases involving both a property and a trusts element, and in which there are allegations of fraud or other serious wrongdoing.

The majority of George’s cases are issued in the Chancery Division of the High Court, or in the County Court in Central London. However, George happily represents clients outside of London, too, with appearances in Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester, in particular.

Professional Memberships

George Woodhead is a member of the Property Bar Association, the Chancery Bar Association, the Contested Trusts Association, and the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists. George Woodhead is appointed to the Attorney General’s London B Panel of Counsel to the Crown. This appointment sees him advising and representing the Government in significant and sensitive cases.
