Kevin Young has 41 years of experience defending clients in complex insurance coverage cases, class actions, product liability defense, and contract disputes. He leads an active practice representing primarily insurance carriers in complex coverage issues and extra-contractual matters. Kevin has successfully resolved a myriad of coverage cases arising from issues such as the interpretation of commercial general liability policies, director and officer policies, property policies, professional liability policies, employment practices liability, errors and omissions policies, malicious product tampering/accidental product contamination, and kidnap and ransom coverage. He was a “go to” counsel for several insurance carriers involved in business interruption claims arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also experienced in defending insurance class actions, Kevin has successfully resolved suits involving numerous claims arising from allegations of defective product manufacture. He has litigated construction and business contract claims involving Cleveland’s sports stadiums and schools, as well as other public and private construction projects. Since 2013, Kevin has been the co-author of Ohio Insurance Coverage, published by Thomson Reuters and available on Westlaw. For almost 25 years, Kevin also has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he has taught courses in Trial Tactics, Pretrial Practice, eDiscovery, and practicum courses in the first-year curriculum.
