Practice Areas
Joyce has a broad commercial practice, with particular experience in taking large and complex disputes to trial. She was instructed by the SFO in ENRC v Serious Fraud Office and acted for Sports Direct in its long-running litigation with Rangers FC. Her work covers a wide range of areas, including energy (BGT v (1) Shell (2) Esso [2020] EWCA Civ 2349), banking (Vestia v BNPP), shareholder disputes and civil fraud. Joyce also has experience in arbitration, including high-value energy disputes, and has worked on a number of Arbitration Act cases, including a successful section 68 challenge and a rare Court of Appeal case (Haven v EUI [2018] EWCA Civ 2494). Joyce enjoys working as part of a team or as sole counsel, and is on the Attorney-General’s C Panel.
Career
Joyce is interested in issues of equality, diversity and inclusion at the Bar: she serves as Treasurer of FreeBar and helps organise One Essex Court’s initiatives to attract more women to the Commercial Bar.
