José Luis is a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice at Freshfields in Madrid, specializing in commercial dispute resolution and arbitration. He has extensive experience advising and representing companies before both state courts and arbitral tribunals, particularly in complex, cross-jurisdictional, and multi-claimant cases. His areas of expertise include contractual liability (such as M&A-related and financial disputes), damage claims (including consumer litigation), environmental damages, product liability, and financial products.

José Luis works with leading international companies across a wide range of sectors, including financial services, life sciences, technology, energy and natural resources, aviation, real estate, and consumer goods.

In addition, José Luis frequently serves as an arbitrator. He has also been a civil law associate professor at Carlos III University in Madrid for more than 15 years .

He regularly acts as arbitrator in the Court of Arbitration of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Madrid.
