Stephan also frequently advises on hybrid capital products treated as equity for banking or insurance regulatory, rating and/or accounting purposes. Stephan also represents issuers on capital markets compliance issues and, increasingly, advises on sustainability related as aspects.
Stephan joined Freshfields in 2002 and has been a partner since 2016.
Graduated from Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria (Dr iur). Stephan holds a master of laws (LL.M) in banking and finance from Boston University, US. He speaks German, English and Spanish.
