Stephan Denk

Stephan is a partner at Freshfields in Vienna, where he heads the Dispute Resolution practice. He specializes in business and product-related regulatory law, with extensive experience in regulatory-driven disputes and investigations.

Additionally, Stephan leads the firm’s Environment, Products, and Regulatory (EPR) team and serves as the European coordinator for the Global Sanctions Group (GST), advising on critical issues related to internal sanctions regulation and policy.

Stephan is widely recognized as one of Austria's top constitutional litigators and leading experts in public law litigation and EU sanctions.

Before joining Freshfields in 2005, where he became a partner in 2015, Stephan worked for over five years as a research fellow at the Austrian Constitutional Court.

Stephan is member of the Austrian Bar Association.

Stephan is the author of a wide range of publications, including over 40 articles in the field of procurement, constitutional and environmental law.

Stephan graduated from University of Vienna.
